The Marketing Project Manager will coordinate high-impact marketing, communications, and program initiatives designed to increase customer awareness and participation in energy efficiency programs. Working within a large, regulated utility environment, this role will manage campaigns from planning through execution while partnering with Marketing, Regulatory, Customer Operations, program teams, analytics, vendors, and community partners. The Marketing Project Manager will bring structure to multiple concurrent initiatives while helping translate energy efficiency programs into clear, customer-focused communications.
Responsibilities
- Manage project timelines, workplans, deliverables, approvals, budgets, and dependencies for energy efficiency marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate marketing campaigns across direct mail, email, digital, web, bill inserts, community outreach, and customer service channels.
- Support customer acquisition, participation, retention, and awareness initiatives for energy efficiency programs.
- Coordinate creative development, reviews, approvals, and campaign execution across internal and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a central point of coordination across Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, Customer Operations, Analytics, program teams, and external partners.
- Ensure customer-facing materials align with approved program plans, regulatory commitments, brand standards, privacy requirements, and compliance guidelines.
- Manage relationships and deliverables with agencies, printers, fulfillment vendors, community partners, and implementation contractors.
- Track campaign performance, participation metrics, customer response trends, milestones, risks, and upcoming deliverables.
- Prepare project dashboards, status reports, and performance summaries for stakeholders.
- Track project budgets, estimates, purchase orders, invoices, and campaign schedules.
- Identify project risks, resolve execution barriers, and maintain momentum across multiple initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Environmental Studies, Energy Management, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in project management, marketing coordination, program management, communications, or a related function.
- Experience managing multiple marketing projects, stakeholders, deadlines, approvals, and deliverables simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating multichannel marketing campaigns and creative review processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with work management/project management platforms; Wrike experience preferred.
- Experience tracking budgets, campaign performance metrics, schedules, and project reporting.
- Utility, energy efficiency, sustainability, public sector, or regulated industry experience preferred.
- Experience with web development and/or web analytics preferred.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency, rebate, conservation, or customer education programs preferred.
- PMP certification, Agile experience, or formal project management training is a plus.
