The Gas Transportation Analyst will support transportation services and gas supply operations for a large utility organization, working across Gas Supply, Volume Administration, Customer Billing, Regulatory/Rate teams, and Transportation Services. This early-career opportunity provides hands-on exposure to natural gas transportation, pipeline operations, contracts, reporting, and internal controls while building practical experience with SAP, Excel, SharePoint, and commercial energy processes.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day natural gas transportation services and gas supply activities.
- Analyze internal and external factors affecting transportation program profitability and operational processes.
- Review transportation agreements, tariffs, rate schedules, and related contractual documentation.
- Support transportation contract administration, pipeline capacity, nominations, volumes, and balancing activities.
- Coordinate with Gas Supply, Volume Administration, Customer Billing, Regulatory/Rate, and Transportation Services stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate transportation, contract, operational, and reporting data within SAP and related systems.
- Develop and maintain Excel reports supporting transportation services and gas supply operations.
- Support internal controls and ensure processes adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Research operational or contractual discrepancies and coordinate resolution across appropriate business groups.
- Maintain documentation and information within SharePoint and other business systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and transportation services processes.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of relevant professional experience in natural gas, pipeline, midstream, utility, or energy operations preferred.
- Experience or internship exposure involving natural gas transportation, gas scheduling, nominations, gas supply, pipeline operations, or contract administration preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation agreements, tariffs, rate schedules, or other energy contract language.
- Working knowledge of natural gas concepts including pipeline capacity, transportation, nominations, volumes, balancing, and gas supply.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and business reporting.
- Experience with SharePoint or comparable document management tools preferred.
- Experience coordinating with commercial, billing, regulatory, scheduling, supply, or operations functions preferred.
