Responsibilities:
- Achieve sales quotas and designated MWh volume targets for defined market segments, ensuring adherence to established gross and net margin requirements.
- Prospect, identify, and generate new business opportunities through various methods, including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to tailor sales strategies based on potential customers' needs, preferences, and pain points.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers to establish a loyal client base.
- Deliver effective sales presentations highlighting the features, benefits, and value propositions of retail energy products and services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet and exceed targets.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the company brand and facilitate sales.
- Stay informed on competitors' products, pricing, and strategies to effectively position offerings in the market.
- Continuously develop product knowledge and sales skills through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Drive sales through effective use of CRM tools, negotiating, and closing deals within prescribed timelines.
- Manage multiple broker relationships to achieve and maintain an acceptable win-rate percentage.
- Support internal functional groups by effectively collaborating with all members.
- Identify, recruit, and train prospective brokers on company products, services, and value propositions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, marketing, management, engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years' indirect retail sales experience in deregulated electricity markets, with emphasis on PJM.
- Knowledge of electric utility tariffs, retail electric product structures, and associated sustainability solutions.
- Proven record of success in achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive sales environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to overcome objections and convert leads into sales.
- Initiative-taking and driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, purposeful sales environment.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the deregulated electricity industry and industry trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
- Previous experience in energy markets or related fields preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment background checks.
