The Senior Payroll Analyst will manage end-to-end, multi-state payroll for a growing national workforce, including exempt, non-exempt, and union employees. Working closely with HR and Finance, this role ensures accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, tax administration, and reporting while helping improve payroll systems and processes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end, multi-state payroll processing using ADP Workforce Now.
- Process payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and union employees in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, taxes, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Verify and reconcile timekeeping data while researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Process payroll taxes and statutory deductions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage retirement plan entries, contribution payments, and related reporting.
- Prepare year-end payroll reporting, including ACA requirements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records for employee time, attendance, benefits, and deductions.
- Prepare payroll, audit, HR, Finance, and Open Enrollment reports.
- Configure new market entries through ADP SmartCompliance.
- Manage payroll system setup, including pay codes and deduction codes.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve issues.
- Support payroll system enhancements and coordinate with IT on upgrades and process improvements.
- Assist with benefits deductions, adjustments, and retirement plan administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of payroll processing experience using Workday.
- Advanced proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
- Experience processing multi-state payroll.
- Strong knowledge of union payroll processing, labor regulations, and related requirements.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Experience with payroll tax processing, deductions, reconciliations, and year-end reporting.
- Understanding of HR functions, benefits administration, and payroll-related practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, and payroll software.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
