Primary Services is actively recruiting for an Accountant II (Fixed Assets) for a large and well-established organization. This role offers the opportunity to support critical accounting functions, including fixed assets management, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, and audit activities. The Accountant II will work closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional stakeholders while contributing to process improvements and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets accounting, and prepaid expense amortization.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
- Administer sales tax exemption certificate processes and prepare sales tax filings.
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations supporting monthly financial statement reporting.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Support monthly inventory calculations and related reporting activities.
- Assist with quarterly financial reporting for shareholders.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audit requests.
- Assist with the preparation of tax return information and supporting schedules.
- Contribute to internal control assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development, maintenance, and analysis of budgets and forecasts.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external auditors, tax advisors, accounting consultants, vendors, and business partners to complete accounting activities.
- Analyze financial data and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and productivity.
- Support additional accounting and finance projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of direct accounting experience required.
- Experience with fixed assets accounting and monthly close activities required.
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and supporting audit activities.
- Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, and inventory accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, data analysis, and Power Query.
- Experience working with large datasets and performing detailed financial analysis.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
- Knowledge of sales tax processes and filings preferred.
- Understanding of business documents, including contracts, invoices, and official correspondence.
- Ability to learn and apply accounting concepts related to revenue recognition, hedge accounting, long-term contract valuation, and fixed assets.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English required.
