The CAD Tech will support engineering and infrastructure projects by developing detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided drafting technology. This opportunity provides hands-on exposure to architectural, structural, civil, and public works designs within a large-scale utility environment. The CAD Tech will translate engineering concepts, calculations, sketches, and specifications into accurate drawings while collaborating with technical teams to support successful project execution.
Responsibilities

Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment and software.

Prepare rough and detailed scale plans from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specifications, and supporting data.

Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, construction projects, and civil engineering applications.

Coordinate with engineering and technical personnel to design, lay out, and detail project components and systems.

Analyze technical implications of design concepts and incorporate requirements into project drawings.

Obtain, organize, and assemble technical data required to complete designs.

Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project specifications.

Apply knowledge of building materials, engineering practices, mathematics, and drafting principles to technical designs.

Support resolution of design and drafting issues in collaboration with project stakeholders.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

0–2 years of CAD, drafting, design, or related technical experience.

Working knowledge of CADD/CAD software and computer-assisted drafting practices.

Knowledge of technical drawing principles used to produce precision plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Basic knowledge of engineering science and technology applications.

Ability to interpret preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specifications, and technical data.

Experience developing architectural, structural, civil, construction, or infrastructure drawings preferred.

Understanding of scale drawings, design layouts, and technical specifications preferred.
