Primary Services is actively recruiting for an experienced IT Project Manager to support a prestigious client in the oil and gas industry. This highly visible leadership role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer and offers ownership of a large-scale enterprise transformation. The IT Project Manager will lead the full project lifecycle, coordinating technology, data, business processes, vendors, change management, operational readiness, and post-go-live stabilization while providing executive-level updates that drive informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of a complex enterprise-wide IT integration initiative.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans with milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
- Coordinate cross-functional workstream leaders to ensure alignment of deliverables, timelines, and project objectives.
- Manage project risks through proactive mitigation planning, escalation, and business impact assessments.
- Present project status, recommendations, and executive-ready updates to senior leadership.
- Coordinate implementation activities with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party service providers.
- Support change management initiatives that align technology, business processes, support models, and organizational adoption.
- Monitor project budgets, resource requirements, vendor deliverables, and project assumptions.
- Maintain project governance through documentation, decision logs, meeting management, and disciplined follow-up.
- Lead operational readiness activities, training coordination, transition planning, and post-go-live stabilization efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Seven to ten years of project management experience in IT, enterprise systems, technology integration, or business transformation.
- Experience managing complex enterprise projects involving business, technology, operational, and vendor stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple workstreams without direct reporting authority.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, dependency management, governance, risk management, and executive status reporting.
- Experience coordinating third-party vendors, implementation partners, and service providers.
- Experience with enterprise applications, point-of-sale systems, SaaS platforms, and data integration initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, Planner, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience within convenience retail, retail technology, or other multi-site operating environments preferred.
- Familiarity with payment systems, loyalty platforms, back-office systems, infrastructure, or retail site technology preferred.
- Experience working within large enterprise environments with established governance, cybersecurity, procurement, and data privacy requirements preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or ITIL certification is preferred but not required.
