The Production Planner will plan and schedule short- and long-term manufacturing activities based on customer demand, material availability, and production capacity. This role will partner closely with Production, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to maintain assembly schedules, identify shortages, monitor inventory, and ensure required parts are available to support on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan production tasks and manufacturing schedules according to customer orders.
- Coordinate production activities with manufacturing leadership to improve runtime and meet delivery requirements.
- Develop and review production plans with management.
- Adjust assembly build plans to maintain production goals and schedules.
- Monitor material availability and communicate conditions that could affect production continuity.
- Review material shortages and coordinate resolution with planning, Procurement, and Warehouse teams.
- Produce shortage reports and ensure required parts are available to meet production demand.
- Review capacity requirements and identify potential impacts to delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels against established production and inventory goals.
- Develop and issue material and parts requisitions.
- Release manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for marshaling.
- Maintain production scheduling spreadsheets, charts, and planning data.
- Use ERP systems to generate and manage assembly work orders.
- Identify opportunities to improve production planning processes and workflows.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of production planning experience required.
- 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Hands-on experience with an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, or a comparable manufacturing platform required.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with production scheduling, material requirements, inventory, and manufacturing work orders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows.
- Oracle experience preferred.
- 5+ years of production planning experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and other operational stakeholders preferred.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%, occasionally with limited notice.
