Primary Services is actively recruiting for an Inspector to support a prestigious client in the energy industry. This role provides field-based inspection and integrity oversight for Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) activities, ensuring construction, installation, testing, and turnover activities meet applicable codes, specifications, and asset integrity requirements. The Inspector will collaborate with project execution teams and technical disciplines to verify pressure equipment, piping, and associated systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and right-first-time.
Responsibilities:
- Execute inspection activities in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for piping, static equipment, pressure vessels, tanks, valves, supports, and anchors.
- Witness and verify non-destructive testing (NDT), post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), pressure testing, leak testing, material traceability, and welding documentation.
- Perform field surveillance of contractors to confirm quality of workmanship and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Verify PEI deliverables, including manufacturer data records (MDRs), test packs, redlines/as-builts, certificates, and turnover documentation.
- Participate in field walkdowns, mechanical completion activities, systemization, punch management, and commissioning readiness reviews.
- Promote health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) requirements through adherence to permit-to-work (PTW), lockout/tagout (LOTO), hazard identification, and stop-work authority practices.
- Manage inspection findings, hold points, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) to ensure issues are identified, documented, tracked, and resolved.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready inspection records, traceability documentation, and turnover packages.
- Coordinate with Construction, QA/QC, Welding, NDT, Commissioning, and Operations stakeholders to support project execution.
- Identify recurring issues, share lessons learned, and contribute to improvements in inspection processes and field execution.
Qualifications:
- Technical education in mechanical, piping, or inspection disciplines, including a degree, diploma, or relevant trade background with applicable experience.
- Experience with Pressure Equipment Integrity (PEI) practices and applicable codes and standards, such as ASME, API, AWS, and local regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of welding processes, NDT methods, pressure testing, material certification, traceability requirements, and test pack management.
- Experience performing field inspections within industrial, chemical, energy, or related project environments.
- Understanding of construction HSSE requirements, including PTW and LOTO procedures.
- Proficiency with inspection documentation tools, including Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, CMMS, and digital turnover systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection procedures, and technical documentation.
