The Financial Analyst will combine strong accounting fundamentals with financial and business analysis. This role will support financial performance across domestic and international operations through month-end close, GL reconciliations, project costing, contribution margin analysis, accruals, intercompany transactions, and management reporting. The analyst will partner directly with business units to investigate variances, resolve financial issues, and provide greater visibility into project profitability.
Responsibilities
- Complete monthly and annual financial closing activities for assigned business areas.
- Perform month-end close activities for project, purchasing, and inventory modules.
- Reconcile high-volume and high-value General Ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform variance analysis across GL, expense, sales, and cost accounts.
- Analyze project costs, sales, cost of sales, contribution margins, and overall profitability.
- Validate project cost accounting and coordinate necessary adjustments with business unit stakeholders.
- Review project accruals, unbilled accounts receivable, and project close activities.
- Analyze intercompany sales and contribution margin allocations across multiple entities.
- Consolidate monthly financial results and prepare data for management reporting.
- Evaluate multi-currency transactions and their impact on projects and GL accounts.
- Monitor financial and tax activities involving foreign branches and subsidiaries.
- Partner with business units to investigate financial issues and improve reporting accuracy.
- Review warranty and concession reserves and identify significant variances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
- 4+ years of professional accounting or finance experience required, including financial analysis experience.
- Experience with GL reconciliations, variance analysis, accruals, and sales and cost analysis.
- Experience with project costing, project accounting, or project profitability analysis.
- Hands-on ERP financial module experience; Oracle ERP strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience analyzing financial data.
- Multi-entity, multi-currency, or international finance experience preferred.
- Experience with foreign subsidiaries, intercompany transactions, or international operations preferred.
- Experience within a foreign-owned organization, particularly a Japanese-owned organization, is a plus.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically less than 5%.
