The Junior Sales Representative will work directly alongside a senior Business Development Representative to learn the full sales process while supporting existing accounts and new business opportunities. This role will prepare competitive quotes, coordinate orders, communicate with customers and suppliers, support pricing negotiations, and gradually take on greater account and business development responsibility as experience grows.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on customer quotations across multiple product lines.
- Process sales orders and coordinate order requirements with customers and suppliers.
- Support pricing analysis and negotiations with suppliers and customers.
- Monitor competitor products and pricing to support competitive sales strategies.
- Participate in customer and supplier conversations alongside senior sales leadership.
- Shadow and support new customer and supplier development activities.
- Maintain strong working relationships with existing customers and suppliers.
- Coordinate customer-specific inventory requirements as needed.
- Track multiple quotes, orders, customer requests, and follow-up activities simultaneously.
- Research unfamiliar customer, product, or sales requirements using available resources and senior guidance.
- Contribute to individual and company sales and profitability goals.
- Travel with senior sales leadership to customers and suppliers, primarily throughout Houston, Mexico, and occasionally the Midwest and Canada.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business or a related discipline.
- Fluency in Spanish or Japanese required.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and suppliers by phone and email.
- Basic mathematical skills for pricing, conversions, and sales-related calculations.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and online research.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, including Excel and Outlook, preferred.
- Knowledge of international weights and measures, unit conversions, and currency conversions preferred.
- Ability to manage quotes, orders, pricing information, and customer documentation accurately.
- Ability to work effectively in a multilingual and multicultural international business environment.
- Availability for occasional domestic and international travel, particularly to Mexico.
