Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Senior Accountant for our client, a leader in the corporate industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take their career to the next level. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in general accounting and financial reporting to support and guide key business decisions. Working closely with the VP of Accounting, the Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with internal controls, safeguard company assets, and maintain accuracy in financial data, all while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead the annual audit process by preparing and providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to external auditors.
- Perform daily and weekly treasury functions, including initiating wires/ACH transactions, transmitting banking files, and managing Positive Pay approvals.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Manage all fixed asset accounting activities, including acquisition, capitalization, disposal, impairment, and depreciation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and other departments, to achieve company objectives.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiencies in accounting operations.
- Perform additional accounting duties and support the accounting team as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting and/or finance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Experience managing and accounting for fixed assets.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with cieTrade and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (BC) preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Proactive approach to driving process improvements and efficiency.
