Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Forecasting Solutions Analyst for a major player in the international energy sector. This position is ideal for an analytical professional looking to advance their career in energy forecasting and data analysis. As a Forecasting Solutions Analyst, you will support critical pre-deal activities, including load data acquisition, quality assurance, forecasting, and analysis. You will collaborate closely with Commercial & Industries Pricing and Sales teams, leveraging your expertise to enhance decision-making processes and drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Support pre-deal load data processing for assigned markets, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and quality standards.
- Optimize and refine forecasting processes and platforms to deliver accurate and efficient load forecasts.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned markets, relevant platforms, and the impact of forecasting on stakeholders and company performance.
- Acquire historical load data and utility account details, assisting in data acquisition improvements through automation.
- Set up, evaluate, and process account and usage data using validation and estimation tools per established guidelines.
- Review completed deals for accuracy and identify potential issues to ensure data integrity.
- Create and maintain internal documentation for processes and procedures.
- Support post-deal maintenance of customer account attributes and load data.
- Contribute to platform, system, and process testing to enhance forecasting accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a strong preference for quantitative fields (Economics, Engineering, Math).
- Experience in the retail energy industry is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills with experience handling large quantities of electric usage data.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with high accuracy and deliver time-sensitive work products.
- Demonstrated understanding of energy market fundamentals, including load properties and deregulated market design.
- Experience using data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Basic or better knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft SQL.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and statistical packages (Python, SAS, R, or similar) is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible, hybrid work environment.
